In case you haven’t visited in a while, the Beardsley Zoo is a great place to spend the day. Recently, Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo welcomed several new exhibits until Labor Day.

Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo is closer than you think and open daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Adult admission (ages 12 & older) is $12.00, children (ages 3 -11) and senior admission (62 and older) is just $10.00, and children under 3 years old are free. Zoo members also are admitted free. Parking at the Zoo is free.  For more information about Connecticut's only zoo visit www.beardsleyzoo.org

Check out the newest exhibit at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center of wolves and Peregrine falcons, or the upcoming hikes and group canoe paddles at Earthplace.

Water Parks, Splash Pads, Indoor Fun...and Legoland!

Check out these water parks: Lake Compounce, Splash Down Beach, Quassy, Brownstone Park, and Six Flags New England.

For splash pads, visit Lake Mohegan in Fairfield, The Dinosaur Place, and Devon’s Place inside Matthews Park in Norwalk. Remember to check out the water play area and Solar Express Train at the Stepping Stones Museum. Or check out LegoLand in Westchester!

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester is a $12 million, 32,300 square-foot indoor attraction featuring more than 3 million LEGO bricks, geared towards children ages 3-10 and their families.  Its range of educational and interactive attractions include hands-on play areas, a 4D cinema, master classes led by Master Model Builders, two LEGO amusement rides, special party rooms and MINILAND — the venue’s signature re-creation of landmark locations and buildings throughout Westchester County and New York City, made entirely out of LEGO bricks.  For more information, visit online.

If it rains: Check out the IMAX movies, Lorikeets exhibit and cute summer camp at Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. For running around, Chelsea Piers in Stamford offers something for everyone, from a bouncy room to ice rinks, waterslides and pool. Or try BowlMor and SkyZone in Norwalk, Pump It Up, and Tumble Jungle in Norwalk, Kidville in Westport, or RPM Raceway in Stamford. Visit the Nutmeg Bowl and Bounce in Fairfield. And of course, there's always the local Y and libraries, which have tons of free programs daily.
