Saint Aloysius School is a Kindergarten through eighth grade, academically rigorous, co-educational Catholic school located in downtown New Canaan. As a small school, we offer a low student to teacher ratio, individualized attention, and personalized learning plans tailored to each student. Our teachers are dedicated to the success of the individual and partner with parents to help students maximize their potential.
Our Lower School provides the academic and spiritual foundation our students need for success in the Upper school. Our curriculum balances traditional and technology driven approaches. All Kindergarteners and first graders have iPads. All students in second grade and up have laptops. Religious education is taught daily. First Holy Communion preparation is included in the second grade curriculum. Foreign language begins with Spanish in Kindergarten. We teach cursive in second through fifth grade.
Our Upper School provides the academic, spiritual, and character foundation for success in high school and beyond. In addition to the core curriculum, our upper school students take public speaking, performing arts, dance, and French. Spanish continues through eighth grade. We have a strong STEM program (winning the CT State Science Fair twice in recent years). Confirmation preparation is included in the Upper School religious education curriculum. We teach our students how to serve their community through various service projects and required community service hours.

We are fully accredited and have been selected as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence (2010) for “Outstanding Academic Achievement” in reading and mathematics.
