January 21, 2023

Two Playgrounds Include “Baby & Me” for Ages 0-18 Months and “My Toddler & Me” for Ages 2-3 Years

Looking for some fun, learning and socialization this winter for your baby or toddler? Then join the Baby and Toddler Playgroups at The Therapy Center at Abilis, located in Stamford, Connecticut. These fun classes offer age-appropriate groups that focus on music, playtime and making new friends. The TODDLER & ME playgroup offers a tiny tots class for two-to-three year olds; the BABY & ME playgroup offers classes for babies newborn to six months, seven to 12 months, and 13 to 18 months old. There are six classes for each age group held on January 18 & 25, February 1, 8, 15, and March 1. Registration is open online at abilis.us or by calling 203-324-1880 x 315. For specific times and more information on the classes visit abilis.us.

“Winter can be a challenging time for new parents and parents of toddlers to get out and meet other parents and children while the weather might not be optimal for playground playdates,” noted Sharon Hoffner, PT, DPT, one of the program leaders. “With the Baby & Me and Toddler and & Me playgroups, we are able to offer great opportunities for socialization, enrichment and fun, all in a nurturing and supportive environment.”

The fun, interactive six-week program focuses on developmental milestones and sensory learning for all baby and toddler age groups. The classes feature music, infant massage, mindfulness and play! Playgroups are for children of all abilities and are held at The Therapy Center at Abilis, which features a fun sensory gym perfect for babies and toddlers.

Parents and caregivers will also benefit by learning a variety of parenting and play topics, which will be integrated into the playful programs. The programs are led by Liz Fornari, M.S., OTR/L, a pediatric occupational therapist with more than 15 years of experience working with young children, and Sharon Hoffner, PT, DPT, who has been working with children for more than 25 years as a pediatric physical therapist. Sharon started her career with a degree in dance and teaching movement classes, so she brings that experience to the group as well.

The cost for the six-week class is $200 and includes all materials. Register at abilis.us/calendar or if you have a question, contact us at hoffner@abilis.us or 203-324-1880 x 315.
