Shop Tomorrows Platform Launches, Giving Clothes a Second Life

A circular economy online marketplace for modern parents

October 30, 2020

Introducing a circular economy online marketplace for modern parents to give and get kids things through networks, neighborhoods and beyond.

Officially launched in September 2020, Shop Tomorrows is on a mission to get quality kids’ clothes out of basement bins, storage containers and landfills and back onto our babes--because great clothes shouldn’t cost our kids the planet. Shop Tomorrows is the ultimate digital hand-me-down network filled with friends of friends, neighbors and community members, where parents give and get quality outgrown kids' clothes without exchanging money--this cool concept is called a circular economy. Members use credits, called Tokens, to make “purchases,” and they can earn Tokens in many ways. Parents can trade up their children’s outgrown clothes by selling them for Tokens that then go towards the Shop Tomorrows marketplace without ever exchanging cash between shopper and seller. More than 70% of clothes donated in the U.S get tossed or landfilled (source). Shop Tomorrows created a sustainable fashion option for the environmentally conscious parent, promoting a better tomorrow for the next generation. Haley Lieberman, an advocate for sustainable fashion, is a born and bred Manhattanite who is raising her boy-girl twins in Fairfield County, CT. An expert on fashion, she has taught textile and fashion sustainability at universities throughout the East Coast. In her former life, Haley was a costume designer and stylist for stage, screen and print. While working on several operas, dozens of films and commercials and hundreds of fashion shows (including Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Givenchy), she was disturbed by the amount of clothing wasted. Per year, she was personally contributing to nearly $1 million dollars of clothing that had nearly no life beyond its immediate use. Now as her twins constantly outgrow their outfits, she realized it was time to build a company founded on making great clothes accessible to all, while preserving our natural resources. As a lifelong thrifter, the idea for Shop Tomorrows was a no-brainer. So with #twinning #momlife in full gear, Shop Tomorrows was launched.  How It Works for Sellers

  • Set up a free profile. Post pictures, set your Tokens price per item and you’re all set! 1 Token = $1, so listing an item for 30 Tokens = $30.
  • Keep an eye on your inbox! Alerts will come in through email and via your account when you have an inquiry or sale.
  • Arrange delivery with your buyer in person or ship (buyer pays for shipping).
  • Use the Tokens you’ve earned to shop for new clothes or accessories for your children!

How it Works for Buyers

  • Curate a feed by connecting to your favorite closets. Browse your feed or filter the Shop pages by size, brand or zip code. Filter by friends or shop all.
  • Message the seller with questions or head straight to checkout.
  • Buy with Tokens, not dollars! Earn them through sales or activities (like setting up your account or referring friends) or purchase them from your Wallet. Learn more at My Rewards.
  • Shop Tomorrows charges a $4.99 services fee per transaction, so stock up at once per season.
  • Get your goods in person or have them shipped. Tokens are deducted from your Wallet once the sale is complete.
