Local Farmers Markets

Eat Fresh All Summer Long

By Carissa Algeri-Gulyas June 6, 2013

Every summer people look forward to enjoying beautiful, warm weather and heading out to their local Farmer's Markets for their fresh veggies, fruit, fresh baked bread, raw cheeses and pretty flowers.  But sometimes remembering when to go to the Farmer's Market can be a little difficult with running around with the kids.  So Carissa Algeri-Gulyas, a licensed massage therapist, created buylocallyCT.com to make it easy to find a market near you as well as products made locally right here in Connecticut.  Algeri-Gulyas says, "It's a win-win...consumers can easily find a farm or fabulous product near them, while local businesses are able to expand their market base by promoting their products."

Algeri-Gulyas every morning lists each Farmer's Market going on for that day on her Facebook page, (BuylocallyCT.com by Carissa Algeri-Gulyas).  To get a reminder of what markets are going on for that day, just go to her FB page and "Like," so you never miss out on eating fresh!  We are so lucky to live here in Connecticut with easy access to fresh foods at the farm.  Make it a day trip with the kids!  They'll have fun and always remember you bringing them, making great memories.  Some local farms to check out nearby are Wakeman Town Farm in Westport. Another fun farm to visit is Sport Hill Farm in Easton.
