Memorial Day Fun Runs, Parades & Celebrations 2023

Farmers Markets, Concerts, Exhibits, and Other Fun Things to Do...

If you’re in town this weekend, bring your kids to a local Memorial Day Parade, a quintessential New England experience and the perfect way to kick off Summer. Celebrate town spirit and take the time to show your gratitude to the veterans and police and fire departments who march or drive past, and explain why we show respect for the flag.

In addition, there are some great fun runs, concerts, movies, exhibits and things to see this long weekend so enjoy!


Celebrate the start of summer with the Weston 5K kids fun run and walk. The race is Weston High School's largest fundraiser. All runners and walkers welcome. 8:30am at Weston High School, 115 School Road. $25 fee.

Trans Am Memorial Day Classic May 26 - 29 at Lime Rock Park


Greenwich Town Party May 27- live music, food and children's activities. Kick off begins 10 am Roger Sherman Park. Greenwich residents only.

The Greenwich Farmers' Market is open every Saturday on Arch Street.

The New Canaan Farmers Market is in full swing at the Old Center School Parking Lot every 
Saturday. 


Plays and Concerts: check out Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, Ridgefield Playhouse, Westport Playhouse

Members of the Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras will present a free family concert on the Great Lawn of the Pequot Library in Fairfield.

A new program Wild! Saturdays at the 
Stamford Museum and Nature Center enables guests to prepare the meals for animals from around the globe. 

Sunday, May 28

The Rowayton Memorial Day Parade starts at noon from the Community Center to Downtown. Pick your favorite spot along Rowayton Avenue or McKinley Street. Then, head on over to the Fire House for hot dogs and soda, hosted by our local firefighters and their families. Be sure to check out the Rowayton Arts Center’s Annual Art Show at Pinkney Park. 

Fire Truck Parade 2 p.m. in front of the Byram Veterans Club at 300 Delavan Ave., and proceeds on Mill, South Water and William streets, and includes a ceremony at the Byram Shubert Library.

The Glenville Ninth District Veterans Association will hold its parade Sunday at 5 p.m. It begins at Walker Court, continues left onto Glenville Street, right onto Glenville Road and then right onto Pemberwick Road. A ceremony will be held at the monument next to the Glenville fire station.

The Stamford Memorial Day Parade is Sunday May 28 at noon from the corner of Summer and Hoyt Streets. The Beer Garden at Shippan Landing is open for its second season. Entertainment will include live music and special themed-events throughout the summer beginning on Sunday with a Memorial Day party. 

Monday, May 29

Greenwich:The Jim Fixx Five Mile Run is scheduled to start at 8:15 am, with a half-mile run for children through middle school age on the Havemeyer Field Track, behind Greenwich Town Hall following the five-mile race. Runners may register online or in person at Threads and Treads, 17 East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich. 

Old Greenwich Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Day Parade starts at Sound Beach Ave at 10 and finishes at Binney Park.

The Darien Memorial Day Parade begins Monday at 10:00 am at the Goodwives Shopping Center, and ends at the Soldier's Monument in the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery. 

New Canaan Memorial Day Parade! — New Canaan Pack 7 Monday May 29 from 9am -12pm

Wilton’s Memorial Day parade is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. at 21 River Road in Wilton Center and end with a ceremony for veterans at Hillside Cemetery, 70 Ridgefield Road.

The Westport 2023 Memorial Day Parade will begin promptly at 9:00am. Following the parade, ceremonies will take place on Veterans Green (across from Town Hall) and the reviewing stand will be in front of Town Hall. 

Weston Memorial Day Parade 2023 will take place at 8am in front of the library 

Norwalk parade will begin at 10 am from Veterans Memorial Park and proceed up Van Zant Street to East Avenue and the Norwalk Green.
