I asked my kids if they know how much I love them. They responded by saying, "Sure. A lot, because you are always there for us." But what does that really mean?

Valentine's Day is almost here, and so are the endless cards, candy hearts and jewelry and lingerie ads reminding people to "show their love" and buy or get this or that. While I enjoy nice things, there is more than one way to show love, and I wanted this week's issue to count some of these ways. Of course, you can show love by taking care of yourself and others. You can show love through kind words, by paying attention, and with discipline and setting limits, by sharing a special meal, a sweet poem, or with extra patience and tolerance. And sometimes you just have to keep on loving or simply being there for the other person even if you don't always see things eye to eye.

In celebration of love, I want to invite everyone to please tell me how you show love by submitting a comment below. Hope you are going somewhere fun or warm for vacation next week.
