A 10 week session of acting classes for students ages 5-18 will be held at the Westport Historical Society starting September 24th. For beginners to advanced students, all classes will be taught by Elizabeth Donnelly, a professional actress, acting teacher, and founding member of the Connecticut based Actors Equity theatre company, Fifth Letter Productions. All classes have a 12 student maximum, and will showcase an informal presentation of work for parents at the last session. Classes offered this fall:
LITTLE ACTORS ages 5-7 years old Sept. 24-Dec 3rd (skips Nov. 26th) 4:30-5:30pm $165
Imagination development through creative play, this class uses theatre and improv games to develop storytelling. Students will act out a book read in class each week with basic props and costumes.
ACTING I ages 8-11 years old Sept. 24-Dec 3rd (skips Nov. 26th) 5:30-6:30pm $165
Improv and drama games will be used each week to grow creativity and confidence. Every class students will work on an assigned scene to be presented to parents at the final week of class.
PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP ages 12-18 years old Sept. 24-Dec 3rd (skips Nov. 26th) 6:30-8:30pm $240
Students will explore vocal and physical technique, text analysis, and acting exercises to grow their work. A great course for the new or experienced actor. One of the final sessions will be attended by a casting director for regional theatre- an incredible opportunity for the serious actor!
